You may store the real-time market data you receive through OpenAPI and use it for your own private purposes, including automated backtesting, strategy validation, and AI/algo development, as long as you do not redistribute it. This applies across all Saxo Bank entities and jurisdictions, regardless of where you or your account are based.
Storing data
You can store the data you pull through OpenAPI (for example, timestamped Level 1 bid/ask quotes from trade/v1/prices) on your own computer or private infrastructure, and use it for personal, internal purposes such as backtesting, strategy validation, or training your own AI/algorithmic models. There is no fixed retention limit for private, non-redistributed use.
Redistribution
You cannot redistribute the data in any form. This includes sharing, reselling, publishing, syndicating, or displaying it to other end users through a product, service, or application you provide to others. The moment market data leaves your own private use and reaches a third party, it becomes redistribution, which requires a separate market-data agreement.
Does my retail market-data subscription cover this?
Your existing real-time market-data subscription covers delivery of real-time data to you through your own OpenAPI application for your own personal use, and private storage and backtesting fall within that. A separate third-party or non-display/redistribution market-data agreement is only required if you intend to deliver the data to other users or applications, or operate as a professional/non-personal data user.
